Atomic Coat-hooks
Final Render:
WIP Screenshots: This is unfortunately the only one I have! I did take a bunch more but they are missing from my computer Print Simulation Screenshot: |
Reflection:
- I have not yet printed it, so I don't know if there are edits to be made for the sake of print quality
- I think the modularity of the design allows me play with many different ideas, which was really nice for iteration purposes
- For example, because the hook to attach to the rod and the hook to attach to coats are sperate designs: I added a third piece that can climb up and down the rope. This would be helpful if you wanted to secure many coats to the rod, allowing for coats to be staggered along the rope, avoiding the hassle of finding a coat in a jumble of hooks in an area
- I wish that the designs of all the sperate pieces were more aesthetically cohesive, but I think, the disconnect overall reinforces the idea of modularity I was playing with here
- Lastly, I regret forcing the end-user to drill 4 holes into their walls to set this up, but because the threaded-rod can be replaced without reinstallation, at least it wouldn't have to be repeated. Also I figured you can always replace the given mounts with any means of securing the hooks, meaning, if for whatever reason, a user couldn't drill those holes, they could secure the rest of the design onto mount points of their choosing
